This Week’s #GolfChat Questions

Q1: -26 won the Byron Nelson last this past Sunday, but the PGA Championship is this week and nobody is sure what Southern Hills is going to look like after major renovations, but what level of scoring do you expect to see? #GolfChat

Q2: Some tweaks are still happening to the PGA Championship field, but we know Tiger is in and Phil out. What player are you rooting for? I swore I would stop rooting for Xander Schauffele in majors, but here I am.   #GolfChat

Q3: Lots tweets on the price of beer/water that the PGA is charging this week. Take The Masters and Ryder Cup off the table, what’s the allure to be at a pro tournament in person? #GolfChat

Q4: @ShaneRyanHere wrote an article about a side of PGA pro’s that we don’t see and it was a bleak picture of too many hours, hassles, rude golfers, for too little pay and there isn’t a line of new people. What do you do to make the life of local course pro’s easier? #GolfChat

Q5:  It’s that time of year that we see fellow #GolfChatters playing on, or planning, golf trips to some great locations. Do you use their experiences and locations to plan your own trips? Who do you count on to give the best reviews? #GolfChat

Q6: What’s your week in golf look like and what are you excited about? #GolfChat

This Week’s #GolfChat Questions

Q1: What golf topics are you and your golf buddies talking about either in person or over social media? We’re talking record rain, mean people, and how good the greens are. #GolfChat

Q2:  My topic is my embarrassing play, like “Take two weeks off and quit” embarrassing. What has been your lowest golf game point and how did you get back from it? #GolfChat

Q3: Max Homa won for the 4th time this past week at the Wells Fargo and moves up to #38 in world golf rankings. Golf Twitter loves Max, but with success comes obligations so would you feel the same about Homa if he cuts back on his Twitter interactions? #GolfChat

Q4: @GolfGrindBlog started a conversation about having a scheduled tee time with buddies, but then real life gets in the way and calls/texts need to be made to cancel. How do you handle these situations as both the 1 that cancels and the 1 that has to look for a fill-in? #GolfChat

Q5: @VeryAvgDad talked about how a good 9 hole round can boost confidence and it got me thinking about how we approach 9 holes vs 18 hole rounds. Do you take a different attitude to the 1st tee if you know you’re only going to play 9 vs 18? #GolfChat

This Week’s #GolfChat Questions

Q1: My home town of Portland, OR just set the all time record for April rainfall at 5.37 inches and behind on my rounds and May’s not starting much better. What do you do when spring weather keeps you from playing as much as you would like? I’m hinting at a 1 person road trip. #GolfChat

Q2: A national golf publication came out with an article about how to play golf with a spouse or significant other so it’s enjoyable for everyone. I see that many of you play with your kids, but how about spouses or SO’s? #GolfChat

Q3: It’s no wonder that most of us find golf to be an escape from what can be the daily stressors with jobs, families, political “noise” and whatnot. Tell us if you can, what one challenge or instance in your life has golf helped you get through? #GolfChat

Q4: Golf presents itself as a partner with charities in it’s professional tournaments and many tournaments for fundraising endeavors. How many of you have any kind of charity or fundraising event scheduled for 2022? @FearTheSkirt https://team.curethekids.org/team/387580 #GolfChat

This Week’s #GolfChat Questions

Q1: When Tiger’s name did not appear on The Masters past champions not competing list, a hope was sparked that he might be recovered enough to play. Today that spark is now a wildfire as Radar Spots tracked Tiger’s  plane to Augusta for perhaps a practice session on site to test his readiness for next week. The golf needle moves around Tiger and The Masters so it has just pegged at full on excitement and wondering how much more you’ll be following the development over the next 9 days? #GolfChat

Q2: Scottie Scheffler is your new #1 ranked men’s golfer in the world with his win in the WGC. Many on Twitter questioned the ranking, but the formula is points based and accepted by all major governing bodies. Why do you think anybody would question Scheffler’s rise to #1?  #GolfChat

Q3: We get a look at Augusta this week as the Augusta National Women’s Amateur begins tomorrow and will play the final round on Friday at Augusta. Because we only get to see the course twice a year, do you look forward to seeing more of Augusta with less patrons during the AWNA or was the Masters in November of  2020 enough for you? #GolfChat

Q4: What wearable Masters apparel and/or accessories are you looking forward to pulling out this week? #GolfChat

Q5: The LPGA will be playing it’s 1st major The Chevron Championship. No world #2 Nelly Korda who is still battling a blood clot, but will feature 19 yr old Atthaya Thitikul who won this past week. Lots of golf to be interested in as we approach April, tell us your priorities?    #GolfChat

This Week’s #GolfChat Questions

Q1: Let’s get it out of the way, Is the Players Championship a Major? At least closer than any other tournament? More prize $ than any Major, strongest field, hardest tourney to win, signature course (and closing 3 holes). On the other hand, there are 4 Majors in men’s golf and The Players isn’t 1 of them. #GolfChat

Q2: With TPC Sawgrass (Stadium Course) being open to the public, would you be willing to pay the $600 or more in greens fees + caddies to experience one of the most iconic courses on the PGA Tour? If you have played it before, what were your thoughts? #GolfChat

Q3: The Players Championship will be shown on NBC, Golf Channel, Peacock, and live streamed via ESPN+ (with coverage options). Will you make watching live a priority, tape and watch later (I’ll do this), or catch it as you can (doing this as well)? #GolfChat

Q4: The LPGA stays in Asia for the 2nd week in a row, making it tough to watch here in the US with Golf Channel air times at 1:00 AM ET. The LPGA brand is an international one, but do they pay a price in US, Canada, UK viewership for a 2 week swing in Asia? #GolfChat

Q5: Maybe you saw a few of our #GolfChat family members get out and play in last 7 days, and some paid the price in aches and pains. Do you try to ease into your new golf season with a thought out schedule, or do you jump in the deep end and deal with consequences? #GolfChat

Q6: What will your next big investment be in golf? Can be in time, money, emotion, or any thing really. #GolfChat

This Week’s #GolfChat Questions

Q1: Phil Mickelson has pulled himself out of the spotlight  in light of his recent comments/actions, loss of sponsors, and being dropped as host of PGA event, will this all affect his future as a HOF? #GolfChat

Q2: After the Honda Classic produced another 1st time winner, Sepp Straka, I saw a tweet lamenting that there is no dominate player in the game today. Do think that a handful of players dominating a tour is best for golf, or are you excited that week in and week out the winners circle is wide open? #GolfChat

Q3: 7 states open up their handicap seasons today, (ID, IN, KY, MO, OR, WA, WV). Are you ready for the start of the scoring season and reach your 2022 golf goals? You can find your state’s starting date here: https://www.usga.org/handicapping-articles/handicap-active-and-inactive-season-schedule-25489.html #GolfChat

Q4: You are the ruler of all things in the golf world for one week, what are the top 5 things to do/change to make golf more in your image? And yes, getting a round in at Augusta National can be one of the 5. #GolfChat

Q5: Zac Johnson was named as the 2023 Ryder Cup captain recently. With 12 wins, including 2 majors, Johnson seems well suited to relate to the American players and will keep the 2022 winning “Pod” formula. Does he have his work cutout as the US tries to win in Europe for the 1st time since 1993? #GolfChat

Q6: What is THE most frustrating shot for you?

  1. Missed fairway
  2. Missed green
  3. Blown chip
  4. Missed short putt   Thanks for @TNRLM for the question #GolfChat

This Week’s #GolfChat Questions

Q1:  Today Phil Mickelson took a step back by apologizing for recent comments around the Saudi golf league and the PGA tour as well as a parting of the ways with long time sponsor KPMG. With the recent pledges of DJ and Bryson to the PGA does this end the likeliness of the Saudi golf league getting off the ground and does this help or hurt golf? #GolfChat

Q2: The Genesis Invitational gives a chance to see Riviera CC up close. It’s a course that seams to give all types of players a chance to win. What type of player would you describe yourself as; bomb/gouge, strategic/target based, short game/putting scrambler?   #GolfChat

Q3:  I played with 2 co-workers yesterday at a muni and 1 brought his 6 year old. As my 2nd shot was going way right I started forming a few choice words that I cut off due to the kids proximity and on the last hole I forgot and and was reprimanded. Have you modified any on course behavior that you thought that might not be apricated by playing partners? #GolfChat

Q4: 1 of those co-works is pretty new to golf and he asked me for tips. I said that I don’t give swing tips, but I can help him with other parts of the game. When playing with somebody new, how comfortable are you in sharing swing/ golf tips or advice? #GolfChat

Q5: After golf we talked too much business, a little golf, and what was happening on a personal level. For a regular round, what does your group talk about at the 19th hole, if you do gather after? #GolfChat

This Week’s #GolfChat Questions

Q1: Let’s get right to it, #16 hole at WM, where do you the draw the line at crowd behavior? Players say they love it, TV loves it, crowd loves it. For Sam Ryder’s HIO, the beer and beer cans were flying, so any concerns about injuries to volunteers and anybody around the hole?  #GolfChat

Q2: As promised, Harry Higgs flashed the crowd at the 16th hole after rolling his par putt in on Sunday at the WM Phoenix Open and Joel Dahmen took his shirt off to entice the crowd into another beer throwing frenzy. Too much by a couple of social media’s favorite pro golfers? #GolfChat

Q3: Media is reporting that PGA Player Advisory Committee is meeting with tour officials today, and you know the Saudi league is expected to be discussed. We’ve brought it up before, but wondering if you’ve drawn your line in the sand yet? #GolfChat

Q4: Charlie Hoffman blasted the USGA, Tour, and officials after being assessed a 2 stroke penalty and saying Tour players need “transparency, protection and consistency.”  We all fall somewhere between following all rules and “What rules”, but do we think pro’s should know all the rules? #GolfChat

Q5: 1 last question on the state of the PGA and what you think of the WM Open. It’s has by far the largest attendance, crazy crowds unlike any other. Is one enough or do you think more try to imitate it and what would more like the WM do to players? #GolfChat

Q6: Looked a national weather report map today and I see lots of folks are not going to play this coming weekend, if you’re 1 of those how are you holding up as winter continues to keep you off the course? If you are playing, what words of encouragement can you offer your fellow GolfChatters? #GolfChat

Q2: We saw bits and pieces on Twitter from last week’s PGA show and some of them where for some really expensive training aids. If you knew an aid that could help 1 part of your swing, what is that? I’m working on arm structure at the top of the back swing this winter.  #GolfChat

Q4: In the not to distant past @reedvstheworld traveled to AZ for golf with clubs in a hard case and the airline still managed to destroy it (no damage to the clubs though). What’s the worst thing that has ever happened to you on a golf trip? #GolfChat

Q5: Farmers started and ended a day earlier to avoid going against NFL playoff games and says it’s here to stay. Do you think the Waste Management should do the same on big game Sunday, or stay Thursday-Sunday because it’s only one game and played in prime time East Coast? #GolfChat

Q6: AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is this week and richest person you know has put down the $40k entry fee, but gets hurt a few days prior and he picks you to take his place (just go with it). Who are you selecting from your Twitter circle to caddie for you? #GolfChat
