#Golfchat Phones A Friend!

Another President’s Cup. Another smashing. The biggest issue to arise from it all is how to tweak the format to make it more competitive.

Across the pond at the British Masters, Ian Poulter, no stranger to social media himself, took umbrage to spectators being allowed to take photos and videos during the event. What does #Golfchat think?

Tips for good #Golfchat:

  1. Retweet the questions to spread the #Golfchat love and get more people involved
  2. Follow other #Golfchatters and follow back if they follow you.

#Golfchat Kicks the Bucket!

The most famous and photographed bridge in golf.

Have you stood on the Swilcan Bridge at St. Andrew’s and smiled for a photo? Is a visit to the Old Course on your bucket list? These questions and more, this week on #Golfchat.

Also up for discussion are the positives and negatives of exclusive courses and their rules versus, cheaper clubs with more relaxed attitudes.

Do you like golf trips? What considerations need to be…, er, considered before you go? Golf course selection in particular.

Tips for good #Golfchat:

  1. Retweet the questions to spread the #Golfchat love and get more people involved
  2. Follow other #Golfchatters and follow back if they follow you.

See you at 5 PM PST.

#Golfchat Un-Leished

marc_leishman

You’ll have to humour me this week, but it was pure driving pleasure from BMW champ and fellow Aussie (I’m claiming him), Marc Leishman, in the penultimate Fedex Cup event. It feels like good karma too after the health issues his wife, Audrey, has faced in the last couple of years.

Leishman is now one of the five players who can guarantee the Fedex Cup become theirs with a win at Eastlake this week.

But does anyone care?

Paul O’Neill (@GOLFFOODADDICT), newest member of the #Golfchat Authors, thinks the Fedex Cup needs some shaking up.

What does everyone else think? Should we just hand some already rich guy a cool $10 mil and move on to the President’s Cup?

In other #Golfchat happenings, our very own rabble-rouser, @cencalhack, has initiated a Twitter poll asking if the long game is more important than the short game. Apparently research is suggesting the long game should become the focus. Go figure…

John Retzer: Golf.com Still Objectifying Women

Golf.Com has redesigned their site, boasting of a cleaner design, faster loading and a new editorial focus. Plus, they’ve added a virtual store to let you buy clubs and other golf gear. In spite of the revisions, however, I still can’t take the publication seriously. Front and center is the cheesecake that drove me away from the last version. Continue reading
