#GolfChat 12.29.2020

Welcome to #GolfChat! Who’s joining us and what do you have planned for New Years Eve?

This Week’s #GolfChat Questions

Q1: How was your past week in golf? With all the changes going on at The Golf Channel do you worry about what the product will look like once it relaunches through NBC Sports? #GolfChat

Q2:  The Morning Drive is gone, to be replaced by a new Golf Today show at a 11:00 AM ET midday time slot starting Jan. 4th with @shanebacon joining the talent.  Excited for a change or cautious around the rollout?  #GolfChat

Q3: As a stand alone entity, we always knew golf was the priority w/Golf Channel, do you worry that golf suffers as it is absorbed by NBC Sports and competes for $ and resources with the spectrum of all that NBC Sports covers ?  #GolfChat

Q4: PGA sold TV broadcast and streaming rights to CBS, NBC, and ESPN starting in 2022 through 2030 for $700m.  That’s an increase of $300m over the current contract, so do you worry that we’ll see a diminished product as networks might try to cut costs around production to be profitable? How many more commercials might we see packed into a broadcast? #GolfChat

Q5: The LPGA negotiated their new deal at the same time as the PGA, but no details announced yet. What do want to see for the LPGA in the future?  Don’t watch it? More events/coverage on network TV? #GolfChat

Q6:  What are you looking forward to this week? #GolfChat
